Hawaii Institute of Pacific Agriculture
The Hawaii Institute of Pacific Agriculture's (HIP Ag) mission is to practice, teach, and deliver regenerative agricultural education programs. HIP Ag provides agriculture and nutrition education to students grades P-20 and supplies fresh produce to its community through restorative farming methods. Established in 2008, HIP Ag provides programs primarily in Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii. HIP Ag currently serves individuals of all ages and backgrounds from Hawaii and beyond through its educational programs, weekly farmers market, and community events. HIP Ag works to support the Kohala district who has set a goal to produce 50% of the food it consumes and re-establish local agricultural education programs. We do this through providing a P-20 Agriculture Education Pipeline & Community Agriculture Initiatives that include in-school programming, farm field trips, community events, Farm to School (F2S) & Garden to Cafeteria (G2C) coordination, and local food production and aggregation through our project, Kohala Food Hub.
